Built on River Corrib, it is 2.3 miles drive from B&B, ( we have a bus stop across the road),with it’s buzzing narrow streets and unique atmosphere,with lots of buskers. It boasts many traditional pubs, with Irish music sessions, hotels, coffee shops &  gourmet restaurants. Galway University, National Museum, St Nicholas Collegiate church,Galway Cathedral,Spanish Arch, Claddagh & it’s swans,art galleries,historic buildings, theatres & cinemas are all located around the city centre. Shopping in Galway is amazing, offering unique little shops to enjoy retail therapy! There are city walking & bus tours and a boat trip on River Corrib.

Galway is famous for it’s Festivals–St Patrick’s Day, Races, Arts, Macnas Parade,Oyster,Film Fleadh, Comedy, Food Festival,Ironman, Babaro Childrens Festival –to name but a few!

Galway  hosted the  Volvo Ocean Race  Final in 2012- a  wonderful time was had by all . All types of Sports activities happen in Galway, the home of Connacht Rugby.
